Hey eveyone! I just started a facebook group for this darling friend of mine who attends a school for the deaf and blind that doesn't have a playground. The cost to build a playground to accomodate the needs for these kids with special needs is outgragous and they have recived no support from local politicians to do so. Almost there!

Hey erveryone! As most of you know Kenny and I are in the process of moving just down the street, literally, from our old place and here are some pictures that I took of it before we started moving in. We are almost there (about 60% done) and when we are finished in the next week or so I will take pictures again, but I hope that you all like it and I can not wait to show you guys the finished product! Hey everyone! An update on everything, our little guy went back to his mom on Sat. and as of right now, Kenny and I have decided not to pursue foster care anymore. After this last placement left, we decided that it was just to painful to accept anymore placements. We are still going to keep our licence incase something comes up, or it doesn't work out with our last placement and his mom. I am going to conentrate on school and Kenny is going to concentrate on finding work. We are still pursing adoption though, so if anyone hears of anything PLEASE let us know! Thanks for all your support!

It's Another Boy!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that Kenny and I got our 2nd placement over the weekend. It is again an amazing little 3 week old boy. It has been hard since we had to let our first placement goe, but he is just so cool! We don't have much information about his case right now, he was just placed in custody on Friday, but we are just so thrilled. Thanks for all your support!

To our wonderful family and friends - We thank each and every one of you for the amazing and overwhelming support and wonderful messages. Each of them meant the world! Thank you! Our first night with our little guy was an amazing experience, one neither of us will forget. Unfortunately, that may have been all the time we get to spend with him. I was sick with the flu for most of last week and figured I was most of the way over it by the time we got him on Thursday, though I still only about 80% better. Yesterday Kenny came home from work and said he started feeling the symptoms.I immediately called DCFS and let them know the situation for not to risk this wonderful little guy's health, since he is only 2 weeks old and has been through enough in that time already. They came and put him in a res pit care home for the weekend, saying that we were still the foster parents and we can have him back on Monday when, and if, we are feeling better and nothing happens with his case by then. We are crossing our fingers and saying prayers, especially since today is Kenny's birthday and he wanted nothing more for it to spend with his new little man...poor baby. Anyway, thank you so much again for all your support! A lot of you asked me about some of the details on his case and believe me, you can't imagine how hard it is for me not to post pictures and tell all of you all about him, but unfortunately, until we have a permanent situation, I can't. I love you all and wish you all the best on this day. We will be doing everything we can to be planting our bums in bed and praying to get our little boy back for the remainder of the time we get the privilege of having him in our lives!

IT"S FINALLY HERE!!! I am so happy to announce that Kenny and I are the proud recipients of our first foster placement! He is an amazing 2 week old boy! Unfortunately it is against the Utah privacy to post or send pictures until we are his legal parents, which is looking like may never happen... he will probably only be with us for a little while..but still!!! He is amazing and I couldn't wait to share the news!

I just got back from an unbelieveable week in California visiting my sister Emily, her husband Bob, and my two neiphews John and Eddie! WHAT A BLAST! We had so much fun at the beach and watching John play football then, we went to The San Diego Chargers first home preseason game and had the most amazing seats! 1st row right on the 50 yeard line! AMAZING!

The average temp. right now here in St . George is 106 degrees so Kenny and I decided to make the most of a beautiful but HOT Saturday and took the dogs up to a couple of local lakes. The first (Gunlock) one wasn't as nice and that is the one that pictures are of, but the second one (sandhollow) was beautiful, I was having to much fun there that I forgot to take pictures, but oh, well we have these!

Our Home Study is FINALLY scheduled for next week, Wednesday, so we are officially almost ready for our first foster placement!!! The room is done and the paperwork is done, so after next week, anything can happen! How exciting!

I was thinking about this week and how the world lost three amazing people, Ed Mc., Farrah Fosett, and Michael Jackson. Though I got to meet Ed Mc. and really wasn't familiar with Farrah I was most affected by the loss of Michael Jackson. I remember as a little girl no more than 10 having pictures of MJ on my wall and kissing the pictures of him in the book "Moonwalk" that I owned. I grew up with him as an idol and I am truley affected by his passing. I hope the world realizes that you can never really TRULEY know what is going on in someones head, and can never really know all sides of every story. I pray that we remember these people for the amazing gift they brought to the world and choose to remember them for that! May they all rest in peace!

Foster Update

Hey everyone! I have just had a lot of people asking for an update on our foster parenting progress so I thought I would answer some questions, Kenny and I have finished the classes that are required to get licenced, and have filled out all the paperwork. We are now just waiting for our background screening to come back, Kenny lived in Arizona so there is that background for him and I have lived in California, so there is that for me, but as soon as that gets back to the Utah Foster Care Foundation office, we will be scheduled our homestudy and after that, we wait for a call! Yeah! We have signed up to foster 0-5 year olds, so now we are at the hard part, waiting! In the meantime I am going to school this summer semester and fall semester at Dixie State College and trying to make everything happen! Anyway, I hope that answers some questions. Feel free to talk to me about it anytime, I am an open book!

Race For The Cure '09 SLC, UT

Every year Race For The Cure in Salt Lake City falls the day before Mother's Day, so Mom, my neice Asia and I have made it a tradition to walk the 5 K, and every year, it is a BLAST! very inspirational as well. You will notice all the pink shirts in the video clip and pictures, most of them are Breast Cancer survivors, including mom! Way to Go ladies! You are truley heroes!

Foster Care

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know that Kenny and I, over the weekend, decided that we are going to take this step by step but, we are going to take the classes to become Foster Parents. Our inital consultation with a lady from the DSFC is tomorrow, Friday the 1st of May, and depending on the outcome of that meeting, we could be invited to take the classes and get licenced. Though the idea is to strengthen families and return the children to their natural parents, everyonce in a while parents aren't able to straighten their lives and loose their rights and when the happens the child is eligable for adoption, and 85% of eligble children in Utah are adopted by the foster parents. This is a time filled with a lot of emotion and wonder, but we are taking it step by step and whatever happens, I know it was meant to be.

Yeah Yeah Yeah I did it! I weighed myself this morning and I am FINALLY at my goal weight 115! Meaning I have officially lost around 25 lbs!! I am so happy!

Doggie Sleepover

Kenny and I are watching a neighbor/friend's dog over the weekend for them and last night we decided to make it a sleepover for the dogs! We brought Tootsie to our house and it was a blast! Roxy and Tootsie played so funny! It almost got to the point of annoying, but it was hysterical! Kenny didn't get much sleep because of it, but I know they had a blast!

Hey everyone! I know that it has been a long time since I have updated this thing, but I am so excited to be back on it! I promise to keep it updated! Kenny and I are doing great, I start the Bachelor program for Elementary Education here at Dixie State College in the fall and Kenny is keeping up with his schooling as well in electricity. In about a year he will be a journeyman and in the fall it will be two years for me. It is then that Kenny says he wants to seriously look into adopting, but we are keeping our home open. We are unable right now to afford the OUTRAGEOUS cost of adopting and have decided that fostering isn't for us right now, so we are keeping our options open and praying in the meantime, it's been difficult but I know things happen for a reason! Well, keep in touch and a very happy Easter.

PS Kenny and I just got done completeing our very first home improvement project EVER!!! We were sick of the carpet in our living room so we tore it up and painted the concrete underneath. Not bad for home improvement on a buget!

How wonderful it would be to be a mother. Though most everyone reading this right now know that I am unable to carry children, what most people don't know what a struggle it has been for Kenny and I and our marriage. Kenny and I are ALWAYS communicating and talking about everything which makes it much easier. In the beggining, it was really hard, but we have grown so close and have grown up much. When Kenny and I finally do become parents through adoption of whatever so the man up stairs chooses, I know that I will be a great mom because I have had the loving example and love from all of the mom's around me, especially my mom, I love you - HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!
